Support the Friends of the Hartsville Library

The Friends of the Hartsville Library was formed to foster closer relations between the Library and the community it serves.  It assists the Library by providing volunteers, helping raise funds, promoting library programs within the community, providing a channel for individuals and organizations to express ideas, and making suggestions for library use and services.

The Friends is a non-profit organization that believes a
strong library is vital to the community.
Through membership dues and book sales, they raise funds to support library collections, programs, and services.
Membership is an inexpensive way to support your library.

     In 2017 the Friends :

  • Provided $5,000 for the purchase of new books and media.

  • Provided arts and crafts supplies for Story Time.

  • Hired a landscaper to maintain the property.

  • Provided programming and prizes for the summer reading program "Build a Better World".

  • Provided prizes for the Treasure Chest, where token awards are available.

Membership is open to the public.  Anyone may join by paying a small yearly membership fee.  The Hartsville Memorial Library has membership forms available.
